Pretzel Crown of Thorns

In honor of Holy Thursday try this pretzel crown of thorns. Use this snack time as a time to talk to your kids about Jesus' sacrifice for us.

Supplies:

  • Ritz Crackers

  • Peanut Butter or Sunflower Butter-(Allergy free substitute)

  • Pretzels

How to:

  1. Spread peanut butter or substitute on a round cracker.

  2. Break pretzels into 1/4 inch sections.

  3. Place the pretzels in a circle around the cracker layering on top of each other as you go.

"And twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" -Matthew 27:29
"The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and the repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations." -Luke 24:45-46

Pretzel and Chocolate crown of thorns:

For added fun try pouring some hazelnut spread or a quick chocolate ganache over pretzels and serve on a platter.
