Transform everyday food items into a fun way to explain the resurrection of Jesus.
Whether you prefer healthy fruits and vegetables or like to have fun and eat sweets, here is how to transform snacks into resurrection tombs for Easter. The kids will love seeing everyday food items transformed. Use it as a way to talk to them about the importance of Jesus's death and resurrection.
Bible References: Luke 24:2 ESV "and they found the stone rolled away from the tomb." Mathew 28:2 ESV "and behold there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord ascended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone.."
Cucumber Tomb
Step 1: Cut a 1 inch section of cucumber and then a half inch section.
Step 2: Use a melon baller or spoon to scoop out the center of the cucumber leaving a little on the end to create a tomb.
Step 3: Cut a small piece off the bottom of the 1 inch section so that it will lay flat.
Step 4: Place the the half inch section of cucumber half covering the opening.
Step 5: Top with a "He is Risen!" banner.

Strawberry Tomb
Step 1: Cut the top off the strawberry.
Step 2: Scoop out the middle of the strawberry using a melon baller or knife.
Step 3:Cut a slice off the bottom of the strawberry. This will allow it to lay flat.
Step 4: Use the sliced bottom piece as the stone.
Step 5: Top with a "He is Risen!" banner.
Donut Tomb
Step 1: Cut the bottom off of a donut right below the hole in the donut.
Step 2: Shape a boulder or circle out of the bottom portion you have cut off.
Step 3: Top with a "He is Risen!" banner.
Side note: you can use a donut hole instead of trying to shape a bolder if you are looking to make this easier.
